DNA Damage and the Gut Microbiome: From Mechanisms to Disease Outcomes

چکیده

Both the number of cells and collective genome gut microbiota outnumber their mammalian hosts, metabolic physiological interactions with host have not yet been fully characterized. Cancer remains one leading causes death, more research into critical events that can lead to cancer importance be determined. The release microbial molecules simulate endogenous processes, such as inflammatory responses, or alter metabolism ingested substances. these reactions beneficial deleterious host, some genotoxic, thus contributing progression. This review focused on molecular evidence currently available mechanistic understanding how are involved in human carcinogenesis. We first reviewed key carcinogenesis, especially DNA damage proceeds tumor formulation. Then, current knowledge attributed was summarized, followed by genotoxic processes induce. Finally, we touched base association between specific dysbiosis different types concluded up-to-date well future direction for advancing our relationship development.

Oxidative DNA damage: mechanisms, mutation, and disease.

Oxidative DNA damage is an inevitable consequence of cellular metabolism, with a propensity for increased levels following toxic insult. Although more than 20 base lesions have been identified, only a fraction of these have received appreciable study, most notably 8-oxo-2'deoxyguanosine. This lesion has been the focus of intense research interest and been ascribed much importance, largely to th...

The microbiome-gut-brain axis: from bowel to behavior.

The ability of gut microbiota to communicate with the brain and thus modulate behavior is emerging as an exciting concept in health and disease. The enteric microbiota interacts with the host to form essential relationships that govern homeostasis. Despite the unique enteric bacterial fingerprint of each individual, there appears to be a certain balance that confers health benefits. It is, ther...

Gut Microbiome in Chronic Kidney Disease.

With over 100 trillion microbial cells, the gut microbiome plays important roles in both the maintenance of health and the pathogenesis of disease. Gut microbiome dysbiosis, resulted from alteration of composition and function of the gut microbiome and disruption of gut barrier function, is commonly seen in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD). The dysbiotic gut microbiome generates exces...

The gut microbiome, kidney disease, and targeted interventions.

The human gut harbors >100 trillion microbial cells, which influence the nutrition, metabolism, physiology, and immune function of the host. Here, we review the quantitative and qualitative changes in gut microbiota of patients with CKD that lead to disturbance of this symbiotic relationship, how this may contribute to the progression of CKD, and targeted interventions to re-establish symbiosis...
